The University is the federal state educational agency specializing in architecture and building engineering. It is a large educational and scientific centre with great creative potential. The objective of the University staff activity is to prepare qualified and competitive experts able to face and manage complex problems in their own fields. The University offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and professional training programmes focused on Civil Engineering, Architecture, Transport and road construction, Economics and Management in Construction, IT systems in architecture and civil engineering, Technologies in Civil Engineering, with almost 550 qualified academics. There are more than 7000 full time and part-time students.
KSUAE has 2-level education system: Bachelor Degree – 4 years of study and Master Degree – 2 years of study. It promotes the integration into the international education system.
Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering
All the courses at KSUAE are taught in Russian. The academic year starts on 1st of September and ends in June. It’s divided into 2 semesters. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars and practicals. Assessment could be by exam, project, case study or written assignment.
Our Linguistic Center gives an opportunity for our academic staff and students not only to improve their knowledge of daily English, German or Italian but also to practice the technical language interacting with native speakers. Our University campus consists of several academic buildings, 5 convenient student residences, an open-air sport ground, a new big sports complex, a sport gym, a canteen and a sports summer camp.

Student Accommodation
University has three student hostels. University strives to arrange accommodation of all the students and to provide with a place in a hostel those who need it. For students which study on the budget basis this is a common rule. However, for those who study at the commercial basis, it depends on the availability of spare places in hostels. Students are provided with rooms for 2-3 persons, each floor of the hostel has a kitchen, WC and a shower room. To make foreign students’ stay more comfortable the option of placing two or three students from the same country is available
Kazan City
Kazan, a city in Russia and a large river port on the Volga River, is the capital of Tatarstan Republic, located about 820 km east of Moscow. It is one of the most important economic, scientific and cultural centers of the country.
Kazan features
From the Tatar people language the word “qazan” means a “boiler” or “cauldron”. The historical symbol of Kazan, depicted on its coat of arms and flag, is a mythical dragon-creature Zilant often mentioned in local legends.
Kazan climate is temperate continental, extreme cold and scorching heat are rare and not typical for the city. The average temperature in January is minus 10.4 degrees Celsius, in July – plus 20.2 degrees C.
National composition of the population of Kazan: 48.6% – Russians, 47.6% – Tatars, 0.8% – Chuvash, 0.4% – Ukrainians, 0.3% – Mari. Today, Kazan is the cultural center of the Tatar people.
The city has been undergoing a total renovation since 2000. Kazan metro was opened in 2005. The city celebrated its millennium in 2005, when one of the largest mosques in Russia (Qolsharif) was built inside Kazan Kremlin walls. Also, Millennium Bridge was opened in 2005.
Kazan Kremlin is included in the UNESCO list of monuments of world heritage. Present day Kazan is one of the most popular Russian cities among domestic and foreign tourists. About one million tourists visit Kazan a year.
