Altai State Agrarian University (ASAU) is one of the largest higher institutions of our country. It was founded in 1943. The University trains specialists for our agriculture. The university has several buildings. The main building is in Krasnoarmeisky Avenue. There are two forms of training in the University: full-time and extramural.
The University has some faculties. For example: The Faculty of Agronomy, the Faculty of Bio-Technological Management, the Faculty of Economics, the Engineering Faculty, the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Center of Liberal Arts Education.

University provide all rooms with a safe and supportive place to call home in our residences: Firth House and New House. Rooms will be assigned a roommate in comfortable twin-bed study. There are also Common Rooms in each residence for relaxing and socializing. Common Rooms may be used during free time after all school obligations are met. Daily Internet access is provided to allow students to connect with family and friends back home. Each student will have a bed, desk, chair, lamp, bookshelf and cupboard with a dresser and drawers. Bathrooms are huge and comfortable, shared with other students.

Barnaul is a city in Russia, the capital of Altai Krai, located in the south of Western Siberia, at the place where the Barnaulka River flows into the Ob. It is a major transport, industrial, cultural, and educational center of Siberia.

Barnaul is located in the forest-steppe zone of the West Siberian Plain, in the upper reaches of the Ob River, mainly on its left bank, at the confluence of the Barnaulka River with the Ob. The distance to Moscow is about 3,600 km. The nearest major city is Novosibirsk (230 km). Barnaul is located at the same latitude as Hamburg, Dublin, Liverpool, Minsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Samara, Magnitogorsk, and Edmonton.
The climate in the city is continental with frosty, moderately severe, snowy winters and warm, moderately humid summers. The coldest month of the year is January (the average temperature is minus 15.5 degrees Celsius), the warmest month is July (plus 19.9 degrees Celsius). The number of sunny days in Barnaul is 230 days, which is comparable with the southern resort cities of Russia.
Barnaul is one of the most important economic centers of Western Siberia. The city’s economy is mainly based on trade and services. The basis of its industrial complex is made up of about 120 large and medium-sized enterprises with 22 thousand employees. The largest increase in production volumes is shown by enterprises manufacturing vehicles, equipment, as well as metalworking, chemical, processing enterprises.
This city is a major transport hub. The federal highway A322 Barnaul – Rubtsovsk – the border with the Republic of Kazakhstan begins here.
