Samara State Medical University is a State Medical Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education in Samara city of Russian Federation. Samara State Medical University was organized in 1919 as a medical faculty of Samara State University. Samara State Medical University has a high social and public recognition. Samara State Medical University is listed in the category One of hundred best universities in Russia. Today Samara State Medical University is a member of the International Association of Medical Universities in Europe. Currently Samara State Medical University consists of 11 faculties and 80 departments, private clinics, 3 educational institutions, and 7 research institutes. Samara City

Samara (Kuybyshev in 1935-1991) is a large city in Russia, the center of the Volga economic region and the capital of the Samara region, standing on the left high bank of the Volga River, in the place of its confluence with the Samara River (hence the name of the city). It is a major economic, transport, scientific, educational, and cultural center of the country.

The climate is temperate continental. The average temperature in January is minus 9.9 degrees Celsius, in July – plus 21.5 degrees Celsius.

Samara is one of the biggest transport hubs in Russia, crossed by the shortest ways from Central and Western Europe to Siberia, Central Asia, and Kazakhstan.
