State Polar Academy Saint Petersburg is the youngest and one of the most diverse higher education institutions in Saint Petersburg. State Polar Academy prepares new generation of highly qualified specialists for the North, Siberia and the Far East. State Polar Academy Saint Petersburg was established in 1991 as a Polar Academy in Saint Petersburg. In 1998 Polar Academy received the status of a state institution of higher professional education. Every year State Polar Academy Saint Petersburg intakes 2800 students. At present the State Polar Academy has students from Russia and 57 nations. Currently State Polar Academy Saint Petersburg has 4 faculties, 12 departments and staff of 290 highly qualified teachers. In this short time period of its existence the State Polar Academy Saint Petersburg has trained 12000 professionals.
