Voronezh State University of Engineering Technology

Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Russia for training highly skilled specialists for food and chemical industries with a wide range of programs for foreign students.

The university is located in Voronezh, a city with more than 1 million inhabitants. It is situated 500 km from Moscow, the capital of Russia.

Voronezh is the administrative center and the capital of Black-soil Region, one of the largest economic and densely populated regions of Russia.

The city lies on the banks of the Voronezh reservoir which makes it especially beautiful.

There is a wide variety of cultural and sports events that are held in Voronezh. It is definitely a cultural center of the region, considering a great number of theatres, concert halls, museums, libraries, cinemas and parks.

The university with its campus located in the city center is housed in 3 large buildings.

About 47 000 students have graduated from Voronezh state university of Engineering technologies since it was founded, including 4000 foreign students. Today the university offers a wide range of qualifications and training programs.

The main areas of activity are food processing technologies from plant and animal raw materials, automation of technological and production processes, biotechnology, bioinformatics, information systems and technologies, chemical technology, environmental protection and sustainable use of natural resources. Economics, management and service technologies provide cross-disciplinary approach.

Student Accommodation

Two modern hostels are available for students with dormitory-type rooms for two (single rooms are available at additional cost). The hostel is connected with the University by a direct metro extension (normally it takes about 25 minutes to get to the University).

A great number of shops with high quality food, both home-produced and imported are available in Voronezh. At the University there are a canteen and a cafe where you can have a lunch for a reasonable price. You can also visit more expensive restaurants and try international cuisine. Furthermore, students can cook their specialties by themselves in the hostel.

Voronezh City

Voronezh is a city in the European part Russia, the capital of the Voronezh region, situated on the banks of the Voronezh water reservoir (the Voronezh River), about 520 km south of Moscow. It is a cultural, industrial and scientific center of the region.

Voronezh features

Voronezh is considered the “cradle” of the Russian Navy and the birthplace of Russian airborne troops. There is a nuclear power plant located near the city, served by a satellite town of Novovoronezh (New Voronezh).

Voronezh City Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of September. The city is located in the temperate climate zone. The average temperature in February is minus 7.4 degrees Celsius, in July – plus 21.8 degrees Celsius.

Voronezh International Airport (Chertovitskoye) offers regular flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Kazan. Voronezh is also an important railway hub of the region. There are regular trains to Moscow, Kursk, Sochi, Tambov and other cities. Public transport is presented mainly by buses, minibuses, trolleybuses.

The most known educational facility of the city is Voronezh State Medical Academy (VSMA) (included in the list of Top 10 Russian medical universities). Thousands of students from all over the world (European countries, India, Iran and others) are studying in VSMA.
