Armavir State Pedagogical Academy
Armavir State Pedagogical Academy is a Russian university. The full name is the Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education «Armavir State Pedagogical University». The main building of the university is located in Armavir.
At present, the tradition of his teachers is being continued by the professor of AGPU S. G. Manvelov, who has published «Mathematics Tasks for the Development of Students’ Self-control: A Manual for Teachers», with a circulation of 30,000 copies and «Designing a Modern Mathematics Lesson: A Manual for Teachers» 20,000 copies.
AGPU actively participated in international projects of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR. The authority of the Institute is evidenced by the fact that for more than ten years from 1984 to 1995, the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature had a Turkmen department. It was the only one in the country. Since the establishment of the national office, a considerable number of highly qualified specialists have been trained for Turkmenistan. Some of the graduates of this department have become leading lecturers in higher education in their country.

Student Accommodation
Dorms consist of eight rooms per floor, with 2-3 people per room. Each floor also has one kitchen and two toilets, and the basement has a shower. Students cannot select their own rooms. We encourage students to apply early, as the number of rooms are limited. Some students may not be comfortable with dorm rules, as they are often considered strict.

Armavir City
Armavir is a city located in Krasnodar krai of Russia. The city stands on the left bank of the Kuban River, about 202 km to the southeast of Krasnodar. It is an important railway hub of the region.
Armavir climate and sights
The climate is of moderate continental type, the average temperature within a year is 10 degrees C above zero, in January, the coldest month, – 2,5 degrees Celsius below zero, in July, the hottest month, – 23 degrees C above zero.
There are about 340 architectural and historical monuments in Armavir, among them as follows: Armenian-Apostle church “Surb-Astvatsatsyn” (St. Virgin) (1861); Tatar mosque; 18 monuments; 40 monuments of military history.
There are two music and an art school, several libraries and clubs, Recreation Park, City House of Culture in the city.
The museum of local study, founded in 1904, possesses 75,000 exhibits and has the largest in the Caucasus collection of stone sculptures (Lenin Street, 114). The museum is open daily from 9.00 to 17.00, except Monday; Thursday – from 9.00 to 21.00 (summer).
The nearest surroundings are rich in unique palaeontological and geological monuments, their formation is linked with various periods of the Sarmatskoye Sea development (12-20 million years ago). There are numerous archaeological monuments: sites of the early Stone Age, hills of the early and middle Bronze Age.
There is a monument to Bulgakov’s cat Behemoth from “Master and Margaret” and Lenin monument in Central Square, the exact copy of the monument located in front of Smolny Institute in Saint Petersburg.
