Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law” (KSUEL) – is the largest profile public institution of higher education on the Far East and one of the leading specialized staff training centers of economic, law and managerial profiles.

The history of Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law began on June 30, 1970 when Khabarovsk Institute of National Economy (KINE) – the first Far East school of this profile was established. In 1994 Khabarovsk Institute of National Economy acquired the status of the Academy and was transformed into Khabarovsk State Academy of Economics and Law (KSAEL).

But the history of two Schools of the Academy – School of Law and School of Trade and Technology began long before the establishing of the Academy . Study support center of All-USSR Correspondence Institute of Law was created on October 2, 1939 in Khabarovsk. School of Law entered in the structure of Khabarovsk State Academy of Economics and Law on April 1, 1994. At that time it was a branch of Moscow State Academy of Law.

The history of School of Trade and Technology began in 1953 with the establishing of the Khabarovsk study support center at Correspondence Institute of Soviet Trade. Later it became the Khabarovsk branch of Moscow Commercial University which was attached to the Academy as the Commercial School in1994.

Today KSUEL is the largest educational institution with about seven thousand students and over 300 teachers. Teaching staff is provided with staff of high scientific and pedagogical qualification with academic degrees and titles.

Each year KSUEL trains future specialists in-demand who successfully makes their career in public authorities and local self-government institutions, in science, in business, in law-enforcement bodies. High professional and personal potential of KSUEL graduates allows them to play a key role in professional communities of Khabarovsk Krai and Far Eastern region. Possessors of KSUEL prestigious diploma have a favorable starting positions and work in different regions of Russia and abroad.

There are 5 Schools in KSUEL (International Economic Relations, Trade and Technology, Management, Economics, Law) with specialists, bachelors, masters and postgraduate degrees program. Within this framework students have the opportunity to choose one of profiles interested in. In order to master study programs all forms of education are used: full-time, part-time, correspondence. The programs of individual plan within accelerated time period and distance learning technologies are also used.

Student Accommodation

The in-line position dormitory of Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law is available for international students. It is located in five minutes ride (12-15 minutes’ walk) from the university. Rooms in the dormitory are two or three – occupancy. Room living space – 16,4 square meters. Shower rooms are located on the first floor.

Khabarovsk City

Khabarovsk is a city in Russia, the capital of Khabarovsk krai. The city stands on the right bank of the Amur River, on the Middle Amur lowland, about 20 km from the border with China.

Khabarovsk features

The climate of Khabarovsk is moderate, monsoon, with cold and dry winters and hot and humid summers. The average temperature in January is -19.8 degrees Celsius, the average temperature in July is +21.3 degrees C.

The city is a large transportation hub connecting the north and the west of Russia, Primorye, and Sakhalin. The Trans-Siberian Railway goes through it. Khabarovsk is a connecting point of the federal highways Chita-Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk-Vladivostok (M60-Ussuri), Khabarovsk-Komsomolsk-on-Amur and the highway under construction Khabarovsk-Nahodka.

Khabarovsk airport offers flights to Moscow, Vladivostok, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Bangkok, Seoul, Harbin.

From the high bank of the Amur River, you can see Chinese territory. Khabarovsk Bridge as well as and the cliff and the monument to Muraviev-Amursky are depicted on the Russian note of 5,000 rubles.
